ALEXA SHAHEEN

Hi I’m Alexa! I am a performer originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon. My passion for theatre led me to Salt Lake City in 2022 to pursue my BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Utah.  I graduated this past May when I also was recognized as a Fine Arts Outstanding Senior. Post grad life has lead me to explore the arts in more avenues than ever! Primarily in the realm of teaching drama at Summer camps and elementary schools.

The most poignant moments in my life were in my younger years; experiencing art for the first time. I vividly remember the first time watching The Lion King, the first time I was on stage (as a pivotal role of a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz), or being moved to tears listening to my dads classical music CDs. These foundational moments of my life are what makes performing so important to me; creating magical escapes, exposure to thought-provoking ideas, and allowing audiences both young and old to understand the importance of creativity and imagination.

As a human and artist, learning new things and collaborating with others is the foundation of what I adore.  When I’m not on stage, you can catch me teaching fitness classes, playing card games, journaling or reading in my favorite coffee shop, or listening to vinyls with friends.
